Writing It As It Is

I remember bidding last year farewell and while the next (365-22) 343 days stands before us, I'm not forgetting my pleasantries, so here's wishing you and yours a blessed new year! I decided I'd do well to refresh the way I expressed my thoughts by departing from the format I'd taken all this while in all the postings I've uploaded. It's far less tedious writing in first person perspective, so here I am...writing as I hear it, see it, do it, say it and live it.

It's just been a whirlwind of a time since she said "YES!" to my proposal. Things haven't been the same since. We've been tied down with all the discussions and planning since, and we know it'll go on for just over six more months. Yet amidst the pressing concerns and pace at which decisions have to be made, we remind ourselves that we're not going to be consumed by the planning. It's planning for a day, but really, we ought to remember it's the marriage that makes a wedding worthwhile.

Where was I on new year's day? Was with the young people of YCK Chapel at their retreat at Sebana Cove. It was a quiet and meaningful crossover from one year to another. It was refreshing being by myself and prayerfully committing the year to His hands and sovereign direction. To be able to say, "Here Abba Father, here I am (your created) and here's my life before me (your breath of life to me). Take it and use it for Your glory however it pleases You." Whenever you let go and let God, a sense of abandonment overtakes and eclipses all your cares and concerns and the assurance that a higher hand is leading you proves real.

Over this past weekend, I've also enjoyed true Christian fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Agapella. We called Bintan home for 3 days and 2 nights and oh what uplifting fellowship that was --- a foretaste of what eternity in Heaven would be. Don't worry, I'm not pining for table tennis in a land where streets are paved in gold. This group has taught me to worship at a higher and more intimate level and what exaltation and adoration through prayer and praise is really about. My prayer and commitment to Christ is along the lines of the hymnwriter who wrote" Oh Jesus I have promised to the serve Thee to the end!"
